We meet coaches and athletes on their own ground — in the locker room, on the practice field, in the hallway between classes. Faith takes root where life is already happening, and for a student-athlete, that is the team.
A coach shapes character in a way few adults ever get to. That is why we invest in coaches first, and why so much of what happens here begins with one of them.

Paul is a Hoosier through and through. He grew up in Central Indiana and spent his twenties there with his wife, Ruth, before returning to serve as Area Director for FCA's Greater Bloomington Area — leading ministry across Monroe, Lawrence, and Greene Counties, 23 middle schools and high schools, plus Indiana University, alongside a team of FCA missionaries he's privileged to lead.
His conviction about this work started on his own team. A high school coach planted seeds of faith in him as a young adult that led to finding Christ in college. That's why Paul believes so deeply in FCA's vision of a world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Coaches reach young people in a way few others can.
A former scholarship athlete, he went on to more than two decades as a head coach and educator, and has also served as a city council member and a coaches' union lead negotiator — experiences that shaped his belief that God brings people together across differences, and that FCA is one of the vessels He uses to bring unity around Jesus.
Paul and Ruth — a former college soccer player and fifth-grade teacher — are raising four boys in Bloomington. When he isn't in a school hallway or on a sideline, Paul is usually in the garden, outdoors with the family, or working through a good book.

Hi I'm Rachel! I serve as an Area Rep for Indiana University and Monroe County Schools. I played 5 years of college basketball, wrapping up my career at Butler University. I came back to faith in Christ thanks to my teammates and CSF ministry, which is why campus ministry is so near and dear to my heart. My passion is to help others do the same; experience a lasting relationship with Jesus.
I have the honor of walking alongside athletes at such a transformative yet challenging time in their lives, sports, and academics. I get to meet them exactly where they are in their faith journey through discipleship, weekly Huddles, Bible studies, and gospel-centered teaching. I truly believe and press on with the mission to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
I have been married to Derek (pictured on left) for a little over 2 years. We love living in Bloomington, our dog Browzer and playing pickleball!

Julia King is an Area Representative with Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Indiana University and the Great Lakes Region champion for golf ministry. Golf has been a meaningful part of Julia's life from an early age. She grew up playing in Austin, Texas, with her family and went on to play women's golf at The University of Texas from 2013–2017.
During her college years, FCA had a tremendous impact on Julia's life—not only in her faith, but in how she understood what it meant to live and compete as a Christian athlete. Those experiences shaped her desire to now walk alongside college athletes as they navigate the opportunities and challenges of life, sport, and faith.
Julia joined FCA staff in December 2024, and she is grateful for the opportunity to invest in athletes at Indiana University and beyond. Her hope is to help athletes know that their identity is found in Christ and that their sport can be a place where they live out their faith and influence others.
Julia now lives in Indiana with her husband, Kevin, and their dog. She is thankful for the ways God has used golf, FCA, and the people He has placed in her life to lead her to this season of ministry.
